Merry Mid Autumn Festival- Day 9

Merry Mid Autumn, everyone! We were warmly greeted by the morning breeze and slight rain and I can see that no one was not wearing thick layer of clothes or jackets. The temperature was about 20-22 degrees Celsius that morning.

No more scorching hot sun!
I guess they were elated to have their jackets on!
It was raining plus cooling weather, awesome!
The trees love the weather too
We had our first Project Management Practical at 9am and lasted for 2 ½ hours. For the first time ever, everyone wore jeans and thick layer of clothes with jackets as the weather was relatively cold. We finished up two practical in 2 ½ hours with the help of Mr chia.

Put ur hoodies, everyone! P/s: Spot Mr Chia!

After which, everyone headed to different places to have their lunch on this cold weather. Diyanah and I went to the Muslim food stall to have our lunch we ordered our usual dishes. Diyanah had her ramen with beef potato while I had my cold vegetables. We are lucky that there’s Muslim food stall just right behind our dormitory so which means, we do not need to travel so far. In any case, it can get pretty challenging to find Halal foods in China as pork and beef dominant the food category.

Enjoying the weather in Wuhan! nice weather

Had lesson again at 1.30pm and we were introduced to a new chapter- Resource Scheduling. It was quite an easy topic where I just have to do some calculations and shading was the crucial one. Ms Hock made us finished the assignments in class so that we don’t have to worry about having homework as we have to post our blog daily. Lesson ended at around 3.30pm to 4pm and everyone went back to their dormitory to rest.

After dinner, all of us gathered around the corridor to commemorate the Mid-Autumn Festival. We could not celebrate the festival outside as it was raining heavily so the corridor was already fine enough. We brought out four tables to place our moon cakes and tea.

Our mooncakes! various flavours!

We cut into pieces so that everyone will get a share.
Our home-made tea
Apart from savoring the moon cakes and tea, group D (Yu Chuan, Yi Xian, Edward & I) was in charge to organize several games so that this mini festival would not be a humdrum one. We played games such as charades and it was indeed pleasing because the game was between the battle of the sexes- boys vs girls!

The group that organised the games and love jump shots!

Enjoying our tea plus having tons of fun!
Having fun to commemorate autumn festival while enjoying the tea and mooncakes.

In the end, it was a tie for both groups. We then proceeded to have our moon cakes and tea while having fun among each other. Since the boys had showcased their K-pop dance on Diyanah’s birthday, it’s the girls turn to showcase our talent. We danced “Nobody” by Wondergirls and that’s going to be our performance for the local students later on.

Everyone taking their position to shocase the dance!
Everyone gave a helping hand to clear the leftovers on the table and dispersed to their own rooms respectively to rest.

Reflection: During the Mid Autumn Festival in Singapore, we could see that many families or friends gather together to play with lanterns and mini firecrackers to commemorate the festival. But in Wuhan, China, I'm flabbergasted that they do not practice this tradition. As most of them were free thinker, they do not commemorate this festival as a major one. We can hardly see anyone playing with lanterns or candles in here. That was why, selling of lanterns and firecrackers were hardly seen. But it's good enough that the local students could enjoy the fun we shared while having our mini mid autumn festival in Wuhan.

Apart from the festival itself, we managed to strengthen the bonds among each other during the games and I believed that everyone had an enjoyable night.
